My project and my Community
My project had an affect on our community and a larger scale community. Our own Arlington High School community has hosted a Relay For Life event for the past 3 years. My event contributed to the success of this event by raising money to go toward the overall fundraising, which is the whole goal of the Relay For Life event. It added 200$ extra to my team's personal fund as well. Every year we set a personal goal that is higher than the previous year to raise. My team captain told me my Scavenger Hunt helped immensely in reaching this years goal as we approach the event. Additionally, my project had an affect on our worldwide community of people who have had any interaction with cancer. Whether someone, their family member, or their friend was affected, cancer takes something from everyone. The money I raised is going through Relay For Life directly to the American Cancer Society which works through endless research and tests to hopefully someday find a cure for cancer.

Great job Carly! As you walk around the track the night of Relay for Life and see all the lights and the names of those affected by cancer, please know that you made a difference. I'm so proud of you and your efforts and am really glad that you chose this as your project. Way to go!
