What will you build?

Brief description of my project

The name of my project is What will you build? Habitat for Humanity is a non profit, faith based organization that provides decent, affordable housing for people currently living in substandard housing.   I am going to have an Arlington Day for Arlington students to come to learn about Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County and its mission.  After a quick presentation anyone who signed up with me will be able to lend a hand at the latest build site.  There will be pizza and refreshments provided to any volunteers who come out on Saturday May 10th at 1:30 pm. There will be several projects provided by Habitat, such as power washing, cleaning out the house, etc.  Anyone who comes will have to wear appropriate equipment such as a hard hat and safety glasses which will be provided by Habitat for Humanity.

  1. I think this is a great idea. Many people have heard of this organization, but know nothing about it. It's a great idea to have a meeting where people can learn about it and then actually go participate. I hope everything works out for you!

  2. This is an awesome project plan! It reminds me of when my youth group went to new jersey to build and set up better living areas for families in need. This is such an amazing way to help people and I have never heard of Habitat for Humanity before you talked about it in class. I will be two hours away at a track invitational on the day of your project, but it has definitely inspired me to help out another time.

  3. Paige,
I am so excited for your project tomorrow! I wish I could stop by but I have t-ball (for my kid). Please take pictures and e-mail me if you have any questions. I think that your project idea (inspiring others to donate their time to Habitat for Humanity) is a great idea that can be your "legacy" here at Arlington High School. I'm proud of you!
