Project Soccer Star
The name of the project I created is Project Soccer Star. It is a soccer game for special needs children. During the two hours of the event the children will be doing soccer based activities and games. I will have high school volunteers there helping as well. I am pretty happy with my progress. I have a date and location (May 10th at Arlington High School), I have some volunteers, and now all I need is participants. I handed flyers out to the Boces classes in the high school and I am planning on sending flyers to all the elementary schools. I hope I can get people soon because if I do the day will be great! I am meeting with the Mr. Keenan today so he can guide me in how to organize the day. Other than getting participants I just need to work on minor things such as a banner.

I think this is project is an awesome idea! I think the special needs kids would love to participate in sports and I'm glad you're giving them an opportunity to do so. I hope you get participants. I'd be happy to volunteer if you need any more helpers.
ReplyDeleteI think your project is coming along really well! It's wonderful that you're giving these children an opportunity to get together and be around people who have similar disabilities. I babysit a deaf and autistic child and I wish I could bring him to your event, but my project is that day. I wish you luck and I think you're doing great so far, keep up the great work!

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that you were able to secure more participants in the past few days. If not, I think turning it into more of a soccer "clinic" would be a good idea like we discussed. Please know that if you do not have a lot of participants it is certainly not due to a lack of effort on your part- you have gone above and beyond trying to cover all aspects of the project. You definitely have enough volunteers, which I think shows you how great of an opportunity you are offering to all students. I will meet with you today to see how you are doing and what else you need for tomorrow. Great job!
I think your project is awesome and im glad your project whent well. Its cool you did this because i also thought about doing an event like this and its cool that you used soccer for games and activities.
